Arpita Hinton is a nurse leader at Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center. She is passioniate in mentoring nurses through ongoing professional development opportunities. She earned her BSN from Mount Mercy University and her MSN from the University of San Francisco.

Dhivya Valluvan, MSN, RN
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Dhivya Valluvan is a dedicated clinical resource nurse at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where she has been serving as a registered nurse for the past three years, specializing in medical-surgical nursing. A graduate of Sacramento State with a BSN and Grand Canyon University with an MSN focused on Leadership and Management in the Healthcare System, Dhivya is committed to advancing quality care and promoting patient-centered initiatives. Her leadership roles include serving as charge relief, her department's unit-based practice council co-chair/chair for two years, and currently as the Professional Governance Council chair-elect. Dhivya is especially passionate about addressing disparities in healthcare, with a focus on improving patient outcomes in diverse populations. Among her notable projects is the early identification of pressure injuries in darker-skinned patients, aiming to enhance the accuracy of skin assessments and bridge gaps in care for those with darker complexions. -
Kiran Dugal, BSN, RN
SECRETARY
Kiran Dugal is a nurse originally from Punjab, India. She completed her early education and initial nursing studies in Punjab, where she developed a strong interest in caring for others and working in healthcare. After moving to the United States, she became licensed as an RN, initially working at Santa Clara County Valley Medical Hospital. After moving to Sacramento in 2003, she spent 17 years as an oncology certified nurse at Kaiser Permanente Roseville. She continued her education and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Grand Canyon University in 2018. She now works as a Staff Nurse IV in the telemetry department, and has spent the past 23 years in the Kaiser Permanente system. Kiran’s journey from India to the U.S. was a major life change that required resilience. Adjusting to a new country, culture, and healthcare system was challenging, but her dedication to nursing helped her succeed. Today, she works as a nurse in the United States, caring for patients from diverse backgrounds and using the skills and values she gained from both her education in India and her training in the U.S. Her story reflects hard work, perseverance, and a strong commitment to helping others.

Janet Sohal, DNP, RN, PHN, NEA-BC
TREASURER
Janet Sohal is currently the Regional Director, for the Nurse Scholars Academy and oversees Magnet, Research and Innovation and Professional Excellence for Northern California for Kaiser Permanente. She has been in nursing for over 40 years. Her clinical experiences have been in the ICUs and step-down units. She joined the nationally acclaimed patient centered care program – Planetree in 1989 as the Patient Education Coordinator. In 1994, Janet moved into a staff developer role at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, and then joined Kaiser Permanente Sacramento Medical Center as a Clinical Educator in 2001. Her career at Kaiser Permanente has provided her the ability to try on several different roles. She took on the role of Director of Performance Improvement, moved into the Care Experience Leader role, transitioned into the role as Director of Leadership Development and Learning, and prior to her regional role was the Director of Clinical Education and Informatics. Janet has a BSN from the University of Phoenix, an MSN from Dominquez Hills State University in Southern California, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership from University of San Francisco. She serves as a LDDP mentor, is a Caritas Faculty, a Caritas Coach and is a Heartmath certified trainer. She also has published several articles on the topic of professional governance, electronic devices for healthcare providers and educational competencies.
