Misson
Sacramento Association of Indian Nurses (SAIN) is the association representing registered professional nurses, advanced practice nurses, nursing students, and all allied health care professional of Asian Indian origin/heritage that creates a community of excellence in nursing practice through professional development, community outreach, mentorship, and collaboration.
Vision
To promote professional excellence and leadership development in nursing practice and healthcare through empowerment and reformation of the professional and cultural identity of its constituents to optimize their contribution to the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities.
Values
As an association of registered professional nurses, advanced practice nurses, and nursing students of Indian origin/heritage, SAIN members are committed to:
1. Compassion, integrity, respect, inclusion, and humility in nursing practice.
2. Advocacy for clients and community to empower and engage.
3. Accountability and responsibility for evidence-based practice.

Goals
The Goals of the Chapter include, but are not limited to:
1. Unite Asian Indian nurses, nursing students, and allied healthcare professionals to foster individual development, creating a stronger and more visible collective at the forefront of education, practice, and research.
2. Advocate for and promote the delivery of exceptional healthcare for everyone, with a special focus on vulnerable populations.
3. Empower members with cultural competence, sensitivity, and educational experience to thrive in a diverse, multicultural society.
4. Offer health screenings and raise health awareness among community groups through seminars, workshops, and health fairs to enhance health literacy.
5. Advocate for the nursing profession by providing career counseling and guidance on professional options in schools and to the wider public.
6. Support the nursing profession by offering guidance and mentorship to aspiring nurses and providing scholarship opportunities for nursing students.
7. Provide training and mentorship to help members advance into leadership roles within the nursing profession, as well as opportunities for research development.
8. Advocate for the recruitment and placement of ethnic minority nurses of Asian Indian origin by healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and other organizations employing nurses.
